It's that time again. We are super excited to give away not only a free ticket to Disrupt SF, but we are also giving away a free Nexus 7 tablet to one lucky winner. I know, read on. Disrupt SF is shaping up to be one of the biggest technology events of the year. It's still more than a month away and we have already announced some undeniably incredible speakers that so far include: TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, The Honest Company's Jessica Alba and Brian Lee, Ron Conway, Vinod Khosla, Kevin Rose, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, and many, many more. The Facebook Ecosystem Crunchup is closer than we think -- just a little more than one week away! We have revealed the agenda and have announced a couple of Facebook all-stars, all of whom will be joining us on August 3rd at the beautiful Fox Theater in Redwood City. Those announced so far include Facebook's VP of Engineering Mike Schroepfer, Director of Product Management Peter Deng and Director of Developer Products Doug Purdy. There will be fireside chats, three panels ranging from topics on how to design and grow modern mobile apps to what's next for Facebook's platform, and even a special product tour by Doug Purdy. We are excited to let everyone know that following the Crunchup will be an official Office Hours and Happy Hour with Facebook. Of course, drinks will be served and you will get the chance to speak and mingle with the Facebook team. After our Office Hours, our annual summer party at August Capital will take place on the gorgeous Sand Hill Road.

We're excited to announce that Vinod Khosla will speak at Disrupt SF! Khosla is the founder of Khosla Ventures and is one of the most influential investors in Silicon Valley. He will be joining our already impressive program, which includes: Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, SV Angel Ron Conway, Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Ben Horowitz, former New York Schools chancellor Joel Klein and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. We're excited to announce that Facebook's Peter Deng and Greg Badros are joining Doug Purdy and Mike Schroepfer as speakers at this year's Facebook Ecosystem CrunchUp. Peter Deng is the Director of Product Management and Greg Badros is the Vice President of Engineering & Products at Facebook. Disrupt SF starts with a Hackathon where Hackers come from all over to share their skills and tricks with each other in order to build a product within 24 hours. Drinks and snacks are served, and as you can imagine with no sleep, things are known to get a little crazy. In a good way. The winners of the Hackathon are invited to share their creations on the Disrupt stage on the last day of the conference in front of all to see. Past Hackathon winners have included: Docracy who went on to raise $600,000 from First Round Capital, the judges' favorite Gilt-ii, and even the hilarious Venture Crapital. We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July and an awesome weekend. You may have noticed that we didn't have a Disrupt SF ticket giveaway last Friday. That is because we wanted to wait since we have something extra special to give away this week. We noticed last Friday that we had a brand new iPad in the office (yes, the new one, the "new iPad") and we were feeling celebratory, so we decided to give it away. This week's giveaway winner will not only receive a ticket to one of our biggest technology conferences of the year, Disrupt SF, but also will receive this brand new iPad.

Summer is here and our annual CrunchUp mini-conference is just a month away. The focus this year is on Facebook, its developer ecosystem, and how it is adapting its product and business to a mobile-first world. And we're excited to announce two speakers who will be joining us from Facebook. The first is Doug Purdy. He's in the middle of the action on the product side these days. As a director of product management, he leads development of the Facebook Platform including the Open Graph, Games & Payments, and the overall developer experience. Also joining us will be Mike Schroepfer, Vice President of Engineering at Facebook, where he leads a group of engineers that write code serving hundreds of millions of people each day.

TechCrunch Disrupt SF is back and everything is shaping up nicely behind the scenes. Actually, I was in a Disrupt meeting all day and that's why this post is going out so late.
